The Sound of Tape brings together a carefully selected catalogue of high-fidelity music releases on open-reel tape, sourced from respected recording labels, authorised studios and independent artists around the world.

These releases range from licensed analogue master-tape editions and archival recordings to newly produced contemporary analogue recordings created specifically for the reel-to-reel format.

The Sound of Tape presents premium reel-tape recordings from a growing international selection of specialist labels and producers.

Many releases are sourced from professional recording labels and studios and are produced from authorised master or production-master sources. Depending on the title, these may include pure analogue productions, archival analogue recordings and contemporary high-resolution analogue tape releases.

The emphasis is always on provenance, production quality and authentic label-issued editions.

All master-quality 71/2 IPs reel tapes offered through The Sound of Tape are supplied as official label or authorised releases.

For listeners who regard recorded music as more than background entertainment, reel-to-reel offers something rare: a physical, mechanical and highly involving way to experience the recording itself.
