Experience of Master Sound - UHQLP stands for Ultimate Hi Quality Long Play Record. It is a vinyl LP record that is made to the original master recording source using half-speed mastering and one-step processing to make the record.
In its more than 40-year history, the 'Demon Drum Group' Ondekoza has had a major influence on the spread and popularisation of Japanese drumming. Many of Ondekoza's arrangements have become part of the repertoire of taiko groups around the world.
The ensemble is constantly searching for new forms of expression and believes that the sound of the drum alone is powerful, stripping the performance of anything superfluous and playing to the limit of physical possibilities. Ondekoza's aim is to create stage pieces that are entertaining for both children and adults. Before each show, the individual shime drums are stretched to the limit - a task that requires the synchronised strength of two members - to achieve the cutting sound that is representative of Ondekoza's style.
This UHQ double LP release on Clarity Vinyl was mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The edition is numbered and limited to 1,000 copies.

Experience of Master Sound
UHQLP stands for Ultimate Hi Quality Long Play Record. It is a vinyl LP record that is made to the original master recording source using half-speed mastering and one-step processing to make the record.
Benefits of UHQLP:
Superior Sound Quality: The combination of half-speed mastering and one-step processing results in a more open, detailed, and dynamic sound with lower surface noise compared to standard vinyl pressings.
Enhanced Imaging and Detail: The half-speed mastering process contributes to improved stereo imaging and a more accurate reproduction of high-frequency details.
Greater Musicality: UHQLP aims to provide a more intimate and engaging listening experience, bringing the listener closer to the original master recording.
Key Features of UHQLP:
Half-Speed Mastering: The cutting lathe running at half-speed (the original being 33 1/3 rpm or 45 rpm) enables the cutting stylus twice as much time to carve the most intricate of grooves. All the difficult, top-end frequencies inherently become relatively easy to cut mid-range frequencies. This results in LP Record reproduction that, in real time, has excellent high-frequency response and very stable stereo imaging.
One-Step Processing: Less is more - Instead of the standard three-steps lacquer plating process, UHQLP acquires one-step processing. In One-Step, the Father stamper (the very first stamper plated from the lacquer) is utilised to press the vinyl record instead of 3-step processed stamper (the stamper plated from Mother, which was plated from Father). This process ensures the lowest surface noise and more musical detail and dynamics.
High-Quality Control: UHQLPs are pressed on virgin vinyl with the newest generation, German-made pressing machine, under the supervision of AQCD Technology. With the help of an advanced German controlling system, time duration, pressure and temperature are critically set and strictly controlled. UHQLP is a vinyl LP faithfully made to the original master source.
