A Tribute To John Williams

A Tribute to John Williams

FILMharmonique Orchestra · Francis Choinière

A celebration of one of cinema’s most iconic composers, A Tribute to John Williams brings together ten works performed by the FILMharmonique Orchestra under the direction of Francis Choinière.

From the wonder of Jurassic Park and E.T. to the magical world of Harry Potter, the adventures of Indiana Jones, and the suspense of Jaws, the album explores the extraordinary range of Williams’ musical imagination. The deeply moving theme from Schindler’s List, featuring violin soloist Guillaume Villeneuve, offers a moment of intimate reflection.

The programme culminates in the universe of Star Wars, with “Across the Stars,” “Princess Leia’s Theme,” and the magnificent “Throne Room & Finale”—music that captures romance, nobility, and triumphant adventure.

Throughout the recording, the FILMharmonique Orchestra celebrates the qualities that make Williams’ scores unforgettable: instantly recognisable melodies, richly layered orchestration, and a remarkable ability to express emotion, suspense, heroism, and wonder.

Founded in 2015, the FILMharmonique Orchestra is Canada’s first orchestra dedicated to film concerts. Through performances featuring Harry Potter, Star Wars, Titanic, Gladiator, and The Lord of the Rings, the ensemble continues to introduce the power of symphonic music to a broad audience.

A tribute to the music that has made generations dream.
