A TRIBUTE TO JOHN WILLIAMS — NEW 45 RPM VINYL

Few composers have shaped the sound of cinema like John Williams. Here, the Orchestre FILMharmonique, conducted by Francis Choinière, brings his music back to the concert hall: the adventure of Indiana Jones, the wonder of Jurassic Park and E.T., the magic of Harry Potter, the poignancy of Schindler’s List, and the grandeur of Star Wars.

Recorded live at Montréal’s Maison symphonique, this is an orchestral performance with room to breathe. René Laflamme and 2xHD used a minimalist stereo approach with vintage Neumann M50 microphones, captured the concert in DXD, and mastered the vinyl using Nagra equipment. The aim is to let the musicians, the hall and the full sweep of Williams’s writing speak for themselves.
