"Just Like Love" is an intimate collection of songs from Eric Bibb. Recorded around the kitchen table, as the songs were written and improvised, most of the songs here are brand new, and have the feeling of classic soul numbers. These songs have been captured perfectly by Opus 3 whose natural recording techniques are well suited to these intimate, relaxed moments.

A career spanning five decades, 36 albums, countless radio & television shows and non-stop touring has made Eric Bibb one of the leading bluesmen of his generation. A Progressive preservationist, a fiery singer with true soul, gospel and folk roots, enjoyable and accessible, his blues are honest and powerful.

Since Eric´s breakthrough album on Opus 3, Spirit & The Blues in 1994, and the highly acclaimed follow-up album Good Stuff, Sunday Times album of the year 1997 (UK) he has also made two studio albums and a live recording on other labels.

In addition to extensive tours throughout England, Germany Ireland and the rest of Europe, Eric has in recent years extended his tours to include the USA and Canada where his artistry and status as a performer has now established him in the same league as Taj Mahal and Keb Mo – one reviewer going so far as to suggest that they ought to make an album together!

”Just Like Love” differs somewhat from Eric´s earlier Opus 3 recordings in that it has the warmer, more intimate feel of the ”singer songwriter” approach delicately augmented by many of the great musicians of the ”Needed Time” band. The fact that Eric played a major role in writing most of the tracks, apart from a couple of his personal favourite traditionals, has no doubt played a major role in the feeling of the album.

While all of the recordings are very new, having been produced this year, 2000, the inimitable analogue and ”unplugged” Opus 3 recording philosophy remains unchanged!

The current Opus 3 Records catalogue contains 50 titles which have been strictly analogue recorded and preserved. The last recording was Eric Bibb´s album "Just like love" recorded in autumn 2000. All tapes are copied duplicated 'by hand', track by track, where all Mastering corrections are made with meticulous calibration and control.

Opus 3 Records Master Reel Tape Duplication:
A modified Technics RS-1500 for playback of the master reel tape. The Technics RS-1500 open-reel tape recorder is world renowned as one of the best for playback. However it is specially modified to achieve the best possible sound quality playback, where Telefunken M-28 for the recording of master reel tape copy. This tape recorder has been used for the recording of all of Opus 3 Records master-recordings since 1978.
