The Ultimate High Quality CD was developed through an effort to improve audio quality by simply upgrading the materials used in ordinary CDs to higher quality materials. For the substrate a high-transparency and high-fluidity polycarbonate (a type of plastic) of the type used for LCD panels was used, while for the reflective layer, low-cost, common aluminum was replaced with a unique and expensive alloy of high-reflectivity. The Ultimate High Quality CD reproduces audio with greater precision and at a level that is impossible to achieve using conventional CD production technology.

All About Ultimate High-Quality CD (UHQCD):

UHQCD stands for Ultimate High-Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. Another layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied to the softer photopolymer for scratch protection. The combination results in significantly reduced reflection of laser light inside the CD and an unmatched precise edge transition between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with standard CD players. Musically, the result is a sound image strongly reminiscent of analogue master tapes.

The Ultimate High-Quality CD (UHQCD) From The Original Master Tape. All UHQ-CD album titles come from analogue master reel tapes, not from a digital master. All of them from a copy of the original master tapes. All of them, analogue mastered, full and pure analogue pathway, then converted in a digital 16-44 format. The series has a gold hot stamp on the cover, that's why the code name is simply "Gold Series".
