Import and Tax Duty

Import Duty, also known as Customs Duty, Tariff, or Import Tariff, is a local tax that the importer (you, the customer) may have to pay to bring foreign goods into your country. You may be liable for any customs tariff, import duty or local taxes due within your specific delivery territory, and this will be payable by the receiver if applied.

As the purchaser of the items ordered, if you refuse to accept delivery or refuse to pay any additional duties or VAT that is due by the receiving territory jurisdiction (these charges need to be collected by the courier or postal service), as the parcel will need to be returned back to The Sound of Tape, then the cost of the initial delivery to your address will not be refunded and any additional charges incurred by The Sound of Tape for the return of the parcel back to us will also be deducted from any final refund that may be due for the return of those items.

All items and products being shipped to EU Countries or international destinations will be exempt from UK VAT, and this will be deducted during checkout.

 For United Kingdom customers: Standard UK 20% rate applicable for all products.

For all our customers outside of the United Kingdom

 For European Customers:

After December 31st 2020, customers in the European Union will no longer need to pay the UK VAT rates on their product order. Please note that each European country will charge their own VAT rate upon import of goods as it arrives in their country.

 For International Customers:

If you reside outside of the UK, please register with our website. Registration is FREE and only takes a few minutes; you will also be eligible to receive special promotional offers and occasional discounts. Once registered on the store website and logged in, prices displayed will not contain the UK tax if you are outside the EU; examples include Australia, South America, North America, Russia, New Zealand, India etc.

Shipping Rates:

Shipping charges by courier services will also be relevant to your product order and country of delivery. Our shipping partners try to be as fair as possible with international shipping charges, tracking systems and fast delivery.

Import Duty:

Please be aware of your country's import duty regulations and rules, as we do not pay them for you or declare your products to be lower in Value than you purchased.
