 We provide the most competitive, reliable and quickest delivery service and shipping rates that The Sound of Tape possibly can, with all delivery charges based on the weight, size, value and destination address for your order.
 


The Sound Of Tape delivers our products to any country in the world, anywhere with a valid address, and typical delivery times are between 3 and 7 days. Our team will use the most appropriate carrier for your order, and anything lost in transit will be replaced in a timely manner. All orders are sent using recognised postal carriers and couriers. On heavy and bulky items, the charges can be quite high, so please enquire via email message or telephone us for an exact cost to avoid misunderstandings.

All orders are processed and accepted online exactly as submitted by the customer at the point of sale. An address validation applies during the checkout process for the purpose of checking and approving your postal delivery address data. 

All Delivery address data must be submitted as English characters (Latin alphabet) only - this is due to international postage standards, and Postal Services will not accept a package otherwise.

 


The Sound of Tape delivery charges are based on weight and are calculated using Royal Mail international tracking rates. Once you have added an item into the shopping cart, the shipping charge should appear based on the weight of your order. Initially, the charge is shown for a UK resident, but after you enter your personal details the shipping for your country will appear.

 


Customer Services: We are based in London as the UK and European distributor for many recording labels and carry the finest music on reel-to-reel tape releases from original master tapes enjoyed by audiophiles today.

The Sound of Tape team pride itself on giving exceptional bespoke customer service, keeping the customer informed about new releases and music on different audio formats, and making sure that purchases arrive exactly as expected.

The Sound of Tape cannot be responsible for any damage resulting from customer open-reel tape handling or defective reel-to-reel machines.

Customs and Import Charges: All import and export costs are the responsibility of the customer. We have no control over the length of time your order will be held at customs for clearance and suggest that you contact them directly for further information. We mark all packages for overseas delivery with contents and order values marked accordingly. Please note if you order products on this site and shipping delivery is outside the EU you may have to pay import duty/taxes on your purchase. We have no control over this charge, and The Sound of Tape do not pre-pay the charges for you. We do not declare a lower value to avoid customs charges.

Shipping and Delivery: Each reel-to-reel audio tape is made upon order, and please allow up to 28 days for delivery, although The Sound of Tape can normally deliver well within this time provided an item is in stock. All data given in the specification are subject to change without prior notice due to technical progress.

Refunds and Returns: By The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 we will refund or exchange goods returned to us within 14 working days. Goods must be returned in their original condition, and the customer must pay the postage costs. If your item is damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us and let us know what has happened. We will then let you know what to do to resolve the issue. For all returns, please package the item securely and obtain proof of postage as we cannot be held responsible for items damaged or lost in the post. If an item is faulty, we will replace it free of charge. We will issue you a return number and will require you to return the faulty product and reimburse you for your return postage. Please do not return faulty items to us without contacting us first.

Custom VAT collection: The Sound of Tape will not be responsible for the payment of any customs or duties associated with this transaction. You are hereby notified that as the buyer, you are responsible for any resulting Custom Import Charges or VAT-related expenses in your own country.

Delivery and Lost Parcels: All orders over £450 are insured, so in the case of an order not arriving, we can issue a replacement. In the case of UK orders, 14 calendar days must elapse after the dispatch date before we can start to trace your package. In the case of non-UK orders, one month must pass. After this time, please contact us to report the missing order.

The Sound of Tape withholds the right to refuse or cancel any orders requiring despatch to problematic destinations which may also include areas of conflict or war.

The Sound of Tape also withholds the right to cancel and refund any order should the final delivery charge greatly exceed that of the price quoted at the point of sale.
