SOURCE & VERIFICATION KEY
✓ AC VERIFIED = explicitly stated by AC Records.
◐ AC CROSS-VERIFIED = published by AC Records on another official product/news/release page, but not necessarily repeated on the tape page.
◇ OPENREELTOREEL HUB = editorial classification, interpretation or collector rating — not an AC Records specification.
— NOT PUBLISHED = I found no specification for that field on the official AC Records pages checked.
This distinction matters particularly for the terms AAA, analogue master, ½″ master and DAT. They are not interchangeable.

AC Records is all about the highest-quality recordings on physical formats like vinyl, reel tape and CD. AC Records is a recording label that values fantastic analogue sound and the highest quality of studio releases. AC Records produces music in the best studios using only analogue techniques, with valve and ribbon microphones and valve amplifiers. AC Records was founded and is owned by Adam Czerwiński. Adam Czerwiński is a drummer, composer, arranger, and music producer, and has recorded over 120 albums as a sideman and 13 as a leader. He has also performed live with musicians such as Nigel Kennedy, Robert Plant, and Eric Clapton. Thanks to Adam, you can enjoy listening to excellent analogue productions of top Polish and foreign jazz masters. |
AC RECORDS MASTER-TAPE DUPLICATION STANDARD
AC Records states that all tapes are first copies from the master tape, normally copied at 38 cm/s / 15 ips. A custom 19 cm/s / 7½ ips version can also be ordered on RTM tape.
Standard duplication chain:
Playback: Studer A807 MkII
Configuration: 2-track, ¼″
Recording: Telefunken M15A
Configuration: 2-track, ¼″
Duplication studio: Custom34 Studio, Gdańsk
Standard speed: 38 cm/s / 15 ips
Optional speed: 19 cm/s / 7½ ips
Reels: aluminium, manufactured by Feinwerktechnik, Germany
Certificate: certificate of authenticity included
Production: custom-made / approximately two weeks
EQ: NAB — AC Records’ English pages currently display this as “NAAB” — with CCIR available on request.
Master Reel Tape Catalogue
AC Records currently states:
Single-reel releases: RTM LPR90
Double-reel releases: AC Records writes “RTM900”.
The manufacturer normally uses the product designation SM900, but because AC Records’ own page says “RTM900”, this catalogue does not silently replace the published specification with SM900. The tape used SM-900 RTM.

OpenReelToReel Hub Collector Rating
★★★★☆ 4.0/5
Collector note: An official AC Records master-tape edition, but one of the least documented entries in the current catalogue. Until AC Records publishes the original recording chain and master provenance, it should not be advertised as AAA.

Current price: check @ The Sound of Tape store
OpenReelToReel Collector Rating
★★★★½ 4.5/5
Collector note: Particularly interesting because AC Records describes the session as going straight through an analogue signal path to mastering tape, making this one of the catalogue’s more attractive modern analogue piano recordings.

OpenReelToReel Hub Collector Rating
★★★★½ 4.5/5
Collector note: Historically and musically exceptional, and the original performance was captured on analogue multitrack tape. However, AC Records explicitly states that the master was subsequently created on 16/44.1 DAT. This makes the provenance A/D/A rather than AAA, despite the analogue recording and analogue remaster.

OpenReelToReel Hub Collector Rating

OpenReelToReel Hub Collector Rating
★★★★½ 4.5/5
Collector note: Extraordinary artist roster and substantial two-reel programme. Because it gathers recordings from multiple configurations/sessions, a universal AAA classification would require provenance for every source, which AC Records does not presently publish on the tape page.

★★★★¼ 4.25/5

OpenReelToReel Hub Collector Rating
★★★★¼ 4.25/5
Collector note: An important document of Polish jazz with a remarkable cast. Collector value is extremely high musically, but provenance-sensitive buyers should note the official DAA, rather than AAA, designation.

2026 COLLECTOR RANKING
★★★★★ — OpenReelToReel Hub Reference Class
Czerwiński/Oleszkiewicz — Raindance
Czerwiński/Oleszkiewicz — Pictures
Hollywood Trio
McCoy Tyner Trio — Live in Gdynia
Karolak/Czerwiński — In A Sentimental Mood
Mozart Rocks and Swings
Piano Sketches
These combine exceptional artistic value with particularly strong or transparent analogue provenance.
★★★★½ — Outstanding Collector Releases
Adam Makowicz — Blue Sapphires
MAP — Grooveoberek
Friends — Music of Jarek Śmietana
Art Farmer — In Wrocław
Art Farmer receives a slightly lower provenance rating only because the master was created on DAT, not because of musical or recording quality.
★★★★¼
Jarek Śmietana — A Story of Polish Jazz
J.S. Bach — Music of the Heavens
A Story of Polish Jazz is explicitly DAA; Bach’s tape provenance is insufficiently documented for a higher source-transparency score.
★★★★☆
Adam Czerwiński — MAP
The current tape listing contains too little original-session information to award a higher provenance score confidently.
ANALOGUE PROVENANCE LEADERBOARD
Explicit AAA / fully analogue
Raindance — AAA + ½″ tape master
Pictures — AAA + ½″ tape master
Hollywood Trio — AAA
Piano Sketches — AAA
Grooveoberek — AAA
In A Sentimental Mood — AAA

Art Farmer — analogue multitrack → 16-bit/44.1-kHz DAT master → later analogue remaster.
Insufficient published information
Adam Czerwiński — MAP
J.S. Bach — Music of the Heavens
Friends — Music of Jarek Śmietana
These should remain “provenance not fully published” rather than being promoted as AAA without further documentation.

OPENREELTOREEL HUB VERDICT
AC Records represents one of the more interesting European programmes of contemporary first-generation-from-master reel-to-reel copies, with an unusually strong emphasis on Polish jazz, international jazz musicians and modern analogue recording.
The most important collector distinction is that “first copy from master tape” does not automatically mean AAA. AC Records itself provides enough information to distinguish genuine all-analogue productions such as Raindance, Pictures, Hollywood Trio and Piano Sketches from releases such as A Story of Polish Jazz (DAA) and Art Farmer in Wrocław (analogue multitrack recording but DAT master).
For buyers seeking the strongest combination of analogue provenance + music + collector significance, the OpenReelToReel reference selections are:
★★★★★ Czerwiński/Oleszkiewicz — Raindance
★★★★★ Czerwiński/Oleszkiewicz — Pictures
★★★★★ McCoy Tyner Trio — Live in Gdynia
★★★★★ Hollywood Trio
★★★★★ Karolak/Czerwiński — In A Sentimental Mood
★★★★★ Piano Sketches
★★★★★ Mozart Rocks and Swings
