Carmina Burana is a cantata composed in 1935 and 1936 by Carl Orff, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection Carmina Burana. Its full Latin title is Carmina Burana: Cantiones profanae cantoribus et choris cantandae comitantibus instrumentis atque imaginibus magicis. Orff’s Carmina Burana received its world premiere in a staged performance at the Frankfurt Opera on June 8, 1937
It is considered to be the most important collection of Goliard and vagabond songs, along with the Carmina Cantabrigiensia. The manuscripts reflect an international European movement, with songs originating from Occitania, France, England, Scotland, Aragon, Castile and the Holy Roman Empire.
Carmina Burana refers to both a 13th-century manuscript of medieval poems and the famous 1936 scenic cantata by German composer Carl Orff, who set a selection of those poems to music. The piece is universally recognised for its opening and closing movement, "O Fortuna," which has become a staple of dramatic cinema, television, and pop culture.
Carl Orff's Cantata (1936)
In the mid-1930s, composer Carl Orff selected 24 of these medieval poems to create a massive choral and orchestral masterpiece. Musical Style: Orff rejected the complex harmonies of his contemporaries (like Schoenberg). Instead, he embraced a raw, "primal" simplicity driven by hypnotic, driving rhythms, powerful percussion, and chant-like vocal lines.
Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is one of the most popular pieces of the classical music repertoire.

All About Ultimate High-Quality CD (UHQCD):
UHQCD stands for Ultimate High-Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. Another layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied to the softer photopolymer for scratch protection. The combination results in significantly reduced reflection of laser light inside the CD and an unmatched precise edge transition between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with standard CD players. Musically, the result is a sound image strongly reminiscent of analogue master tapes.
No-compromise music reissues by AudioNautes Recordings. The Ultimate High-Quality CD reproduces audio with greater precision and at a level that is impossible to achieve using conventional CD production technology.
All UHQ-CD album titles come from analogue master reel tapes, not from a digital master. All of them are from a copy of the original master tapes. All of them, analogue mastered, with a full and pure analogue pathway, then converted to a digital 16-44 format. The series has a gold hot stamp on the cover; that is why the code name is simply "Gold Series".
