To mark the 50th anniversary of Cantate Domino, AudioNautes is extending its celebration of this legendary audiophile recording with a new Crystal Disc edition, AN-2616-KD.

Following the special AN-2601 1-Step vinyl box set, this release brings the same landmark recording into one of the most exclusive optical-disc formats available. The new edition is MQA encoded at 176.4 kHz and produced using an AAD mastering path, combining an analogue source with digital mastering and final digital disc production.

Cantate Domino has long been regarded as one of the classic reference recordings for evaluating high-end audio systems. Its combination of choir, organ, solo voice and church acoustics places exceptional demands on playback equipment, particularly in terms of dynamic range, spatial depth, tonal naturalness and low-level detail.

The new Crystal Disc edition has therefore been conceived as more than a commemorative reissue. It is intended as a premium collector version for listeners who want to hear this famous recording through an ultra-high-quality digital physical format.

Demand has already been significant.

The earlier AN-2104-UHQ edition, produced in a limited run of 1,111 copies, is now completely sold out. The first production batch of only 10 copies of AN-2616-KD has also already sold out.

AudioNautes has confirmed that a new batch is expected toward the end of 2026, and advance reservations are being encouraged because another rapid sell-out is anticipated.
