Beautiful singer-songwriting music.
She has a very beautiful voice, and she writes all her music by herself. This album launched Jennifer Brown's career, making her a major star in Scandinavia and setting the stage for subsequent albums like In My Garden and Vera. While she's a singer-songwriter known for warm, strong vocals, this debut is a classic modern soul-pop record.

Over Jennifer Brown:
Music has always been my way of breathing. From childhood onwards, melodies and lyrics have been my way of understanding the world – and perhaps even more importantly, my way of understanding myself.
I grew up with a voice that never really wanted to be silent. Singing made me feel most at home, as if every note helped me find my place. When I first stood on stage and let the music carry me away, I knew I belonged there.
My journey has taken me through different sounds, feelings and expressions – always with my heart in the right place. I have sung about love, about longing, about dreams and about all the nuances of life. For me, music is not just about notes and lyrics, but also about the stories we carry within us. I want every song I sing to feel like an encounter – as if we are sharing something, you and I.
When I step into the studio or onto the stage, I do so with a sense of gratitude. Being able to create, to touch people, to be part of something bigger – that is magic. And I want to share that magic with you.
Welcome to my world. Here, music is the heartbeat, and every song is a breath of fresh air.
In an STS recording, you will find:
- The warm sound that acoustic instruments possess on their own, but is often not captured by sound technicians.
2. Acoustic placement and recognition of the musicians in the recording space.
3. Phase purity of a recording, both the electric phase (good cable/fibre connections etc), and the acoustic phase must be acquired through proper placement of the microphones.
4. Symmetry in the recording; this means always placing the microphones in such a way that on both the left and the right side there’s an equal division of signal, and not placing mono support microphones on the extreme left and right.
5. Transparency and clarity in a recording. This does not mean an overly sharp recording, but one of softness in tone and clarity, in which the 3-dimensional recording space is being displayed.
