In the 1970s, the Swedish label Proprius produced a whole series of extremely realistic-sounding music recordings that are still praised by audiophiles today for their outstanding sound quality. Laudate II, released in 1981, is the second recording for Proprius by the Uppsala Academy Chamber Choir and the Drottningholms Barockensemble under the direction of conductor Anders Eby. It features seven pieces from the Düben Collection, the largest private collection of 17th and 18th century compositions, which today belongs to the Uppsala University Library.

What at first glance appears to be a niche product for musicologists was one of the label's greatest commercial successes. The impeccable technical execution of the recording combined with accessible baroque music played on period instruments guarantee 45 minutes of listening pleasure. 

Laudate! there is another AudioNautes Recordings title for pre-orders. Reissue, limited and numbered editions. 

Laudate! is Proprius original publisher recordings. Recorded on February 4 & 5, June 6 1978 at Johannes Church, Stockholm, Sweden by Bertil Alving. 

During our exchange of info on Cantate Domino 50, Bertil Alving highlighted that Laudate! done in 1978, 2 years later is what he considers his best recording for Proprius. In effect it's even better in several aspects. Source the original session master reel tape recordings.
