AudioNautes Recordings' remastering process may be considered as purist, at the highest level. AudioNautes Recordings limits as much as possible any intervention, with the aim, however, of extracting the maximum of what has been engraved, without distorting the original idea. Still, always ask ourselves whether any intended action really brings more advantages than disadvantages, if it is really necessary. AudioNautes Recordings always spend dozens of hours listening and listening again, adjusting only what is really needed to achieve the expected result… and try hard to succeed. AudioNautes Recordings remastering is always analog from analogue masters and almost always analogue even from digital masters.
Production costs that others are not willing to face
The volume level in UHQ-CDs is also determined by testing, and AudioNautes Recordings do not change it in the digital domain. All these choices come from the tests ran, not from mere ideas or beliefs: just evidence and facts. There are no particular secrets, except for the 3M: Money, Mastering, Machines. Money – it is useless to hide the fact that to obtain high results, you have to invest money, especially in tests. Mastering – it takes certain skills, abilities and experience: for this reason believe in the team and in the different souls and sensitivities of each of its members. Machines – real equipment of the highest quality are needed, not just names, and it is about listening, not just datasheets: all this, however, at the end of the day means Money. Someone said we are the ONLY ones who ask for so much, the only ones willing to spend what it takes to get a result.

The Ultimate High Quality CD (UHQ-CD)
The Ultimate High Quality CD was developed through an effort to improve audio quality by simply upgrading the materials used in ordinary CDs to higher quality materials. For the substrate a high-transparency and high-fluidity polycarbonate (a type of plastic) of the type used for LCD panels was used, while for the reflective layer, low-cost, common aluminium was replaced with a unique and expensive alloy of high-reflectivity. The Ultimate High Quality CD reproduces audio with greater precision and at a level that is impossible to achieve using conventional CD production technology.

All About Ultimate High-Quality CD (UHQ-CD):
UHQCD stands for Ultimate High-Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. Another layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied to the softer photopolymer for scratch protection. The combination results in significantly reduced reflection of laser light inside the CD and an unmatched precise edge transition between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with standard CD players. Musically, the result is a sound image strongly reminiscent of analogue master tapes.
The Ultimate High-Quality CD (UHQCD) From The Original Master Tape. All UHQ-CD album titles come from analogue master reel tapes, not from a digital master. All of them from a copy of the original master tapes. All of them, analogue mastered, full and pure analogue pathway, then converted in a digital 16-44 format. The series has a gold hot stamp on the cover, that's why the code name is simply "Gold Series".
