Pianist and vocalist Anne Bisson is joined by drummer Paul Brochu, bassist Frederic Alarie, and cellist Vincent Belanger for Tales From The Treetops, her follow-up to Blue Mind. The album features a duet with special guest international soprano Suzie LeBlanc.

Canadian singer/songwriter Anne Bisson makes her own kind of jazz. 'Tales From The Treetops' is a delightful collection of musical stories, told with a voice which doesn't have to try at all to bring it all to life. There is a touching authenticity in these fourteen performances. The lyrics are clearly personal snapshots from a life (whether always Ms Bisson's is not always clear) and although the pieces taken together do not form a single coherent narrative the album unfolds in one long beautiful breath.

Ms Bisson is a fine pianist and is well supported in her endeavours by Norman Guilbeault (double bass), Paul Brochu (drums) and Vincent
Belanger (cello). It is an easy alliance full of subtle instrumental detail.

From the wistful childhood memories of the spellbinding opening track 'I Live In A Treehouse'; through the aching broken love affair of 'Dry My Tears'; the delicate, dreamlike, impressionistic and utterly captivating 'Lilac Blooms'; the seductively humorous 'Everybody's Kissing In Paris' and the heartbreakingly intense 'I Do', Ms Bisson is never anything less than an utterly convincing performer and guide.

There is very real magic at work here and I was a willing victim to all its enchantments.
