An Audiophile Reference Collection on UHQCD

Reference Sampler – Volume 2 is a carefully curated audiophile compilation from Fung Hang Record, bringing together outstanding vocal recordings from a selection of domestic and international record companies, artists and copyright owners.

Produced in Japan by Memory-Tech, the album uses UHQCD – Ultimate High Quality CD technology, developed to improve the precision of the physical disc manufacturing process while remaining compatible with standard CD players.

UHQCD technology was designed to reproduce the characteristics of high-quality master material more faithfully through improved disc materials and manufacturing accuracy. It is often described as offering some of the physical-production advantages associated with premium optical-disc formats while retaining conventional CD compatibility.

For this 2018 release, Fung Hang Record collaborated with numerous record labels and rights holders to assemble a collection of particularly well-recorded tracks. The selection concentrates strongly on vocals, combining Asian audiophile recordings with international artists and providing listeners with a varied programme suitable both for musical enjoyment and for evaluating a high-quality audio system.

Among the international highlights are Vanessa Fernandez and Canadian singer-songwriter Anne Bisson, alongside a broad selection of respected Hong Kong and Chinese vocalists.
